In my “Fractures” series I was compelled to cut up my face paintings and using those shapes, create entirely different compositions. The resulting “collages” resemble faces that have been
stripped of their outer layer, exposing secrets never shared. The colorful, chaotic pieces
take on a new life. They represent fragmented fantasies, beliefs and desires designed by my imagination. Artfully reassembled, the disconnected shapes work together in a unified totality.
While attempting to evoke a unique response, each collage expresses an emotion or shares
a memory not evident in its previous incarnation.
Visit my “Fractures” blog for an explanation on how I created these works.
